ABOUT THE HOSTS:

Pie Ranch was founded in 2002 by Jered Lawson, Karen Heisler, and Nancy Vail, each with backgrounds in sustainable agriculture and education. They envisioned a regional center for regenerative farming, food system education, sustainability, renewed engagement between farmers and end use consumers, and wanted to incorporate training and farm experience for new young farmers, especially from marginalized communities. And they imagined finding joy in all of it. They host farm work days, encourage indigenous collaboration, and throw old fashioned barn dances and farm-to-fork events. pieranch.org

ABOUT THE COLLABORATORS:

The Vinguard is a non-profit social justice organization promoting equity, belonging, and sustainability in the wine industry. In 2018, we launched WINeFare, an annual event with women who make and import natural wine, and since 2022, we have been hosting Wine Flair tastings with LGBTQIA+ natural winemakers. We are starting a new collaborative wine label, Guardian Vital, to raise awareness of vineyard workers' protections and rights. We stand in solidarity with organizations that share our values and whose work compliments our mission. thevinguard.com
